Did you know that in 2025, about 316,950 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer? And for Latinas, it’s the leading cancer-related cause of death. Yet, in so many of our families, conversations about prevention and early detection just aren’t happening–and that needs to change.

 

This Women’s History Month, the Latina Leadership Podcast is bringing this important topic front and center. In this heartfelt video essay, our host, Anjelica Cazares, gets real about navigating her first mammogram and confronting the realities of breast health as a Latina.
